This month: April

Lent is the solemn period of fasting and prayer in preparation for the joyous festival of Easter (this year, Sunday 9 April). These are the services we have planned this Holy Week and Easter:

  • Palm Sunday 2 April at 09.00: Sung Eucharist at St Cadoc’s
  • Palm Sunday 2 April at 10.30: Sung Eucharist at St Mary’s
  • Palm Sunday 2 April at 10.30: Sung Eucharist with Choir at All Saints’
  • Palm Sunday 2 April at 16.30: Choir and Contemplation at All Saints’
  • Holy Monday 3 April at 19.00: Holy Eucharist with homily at All Saints’
  • Holy Tuesday 4 April at 19.00: Holy Eucharist with homily at Merthyr Dyfan
  • Holy Wednesday 5 April at 19.00: Holy Eucharist with homily at St Mary’s
  • Maundy Thursday 6 April at 10.00: Holy Eucharist at St Cadoc’s
  • Maundy Thursday 6 April at 19.00: Sung Eucharist with the Stripping of the Altar, following by the Watch (1 hour) at All Saints’
  • Maundy Thursday 6 April at 19.00: Sung Eucharist with the Washing of Feet and Stripping of the Altar, following by the Watch (until midnight) at St Mary’s
  • Good Friday 7 April at 10.30: the Story of the first Good Friday (family service) at All Saints’
  • Good Friday 7 April at 12.00: ecumenical Walk of Witness, starting at Parade Gardens
  • Good Friday 7 April at 14.00: Holy Hour (Service of the Word) at All Saints’
  • Good Friday 7 April at 19.00: Devotion with administration of Holy Communion at St Mary’s

Easter

  • Easter Eve (Saturday) 8 April at 20.00: Easter Vigil at All Saints’
  • Easter Eve (Saturday) 8 April at 20.00: Easter Vigil at St Cadoc’s
  • Easter Sunday 9 April at 05.30: Sonrise service at St Baruc’s ruins (followed by breakfast at All Saints’ Hall)
  • Easter Sunday 9 April at 08.00: Holy Eucharist at All Saints’
  • Easter Sunday 9 April at 09.00: Holy Eucharist at Merthyr Dyfan
  • Easter Sunday 9 April at 09.00: Sung Eucharist at St Cadoc’s
  • Easter Sunday 9 April at 10.30: Sung Eucharist at St Mary’s
  • Easter Sunday 9 April at 10.30: Sung Eucharist at All Saints’
  • Bank Holiday Monday 10 April at 10.00: Holy Eucharist at St Cadoc’s

After which, the normal service pattern resumes (per the Google calendar on this page).
